The Indie Mine, Blue Skies, Festival of Friends and more!

Hey everyone!

I just got back from an amazing weekend of music in Clarendon, ON at Blue Skies Music Festival. I got to meet David Francey and see him perform for the first time. It was awesome. I also finally got to see Sarah Harmer and Peter Katz perform, amongst other amazing musicians. It was a great music filled weekend. Lots of jamming and hanging out with old friends while making some new ones!

This Sunday I’m off to Ancaster, ON to perform at the 2013 Festival of Friends. You can go here to see who I’m sharing the stage with: www.festivaloffriends.ca. Very excited!

And last but not least, I have been featured in the Indie Mine’s music roundup for July. You can read the review for Captain and listen to the other artists here: http://theindiemine.com/july-2013-music-roundup/.

I believe that is all for now. I’m working on some new videos and still booking for the tour in the fall. You can go to the shows page to see what dates have already rolled in. Thank for reading and come back again soon!

New demo song

Hey folks! I just recorded a new tune in my home. It’s a funny little song about Mayor Rob Ford. You can listen to the song and read the lyrics below. More updates soon!

Dear Rob,

How is your life? It makes me wonder how you crept into mine.
Who do you love? Are they ashamed? If you were in my family I’d try to change my name.

I just cant fathom it. Frankly I’m sick of it.
‘Cause you’re so full of shit you’re eyes are turning brown.

Mr. Ford how can you sleep? I can just imagine you sweatin’ through the sheets.
So that’s the plan? Just raise two hundred grand to see you puffing on the pipe? Now wouldn’t that be neat.

We just can’t fathom it. Frankly we’re sick of it. ‘Cause your so full of shit you’re stinking up our town.
Look at the mess you’ve made and the debts you have to pay. It’s time to take the stage so we can take you down.

You’re floating off in space. You’re just a smudge that needs to be erased.
As you read my letter try to make it better. All you have to do is STOP.

You’re such a silly man so full of silly plans. You’re so big but still so small.
You’re one of many men who shape the world we’re in. I for one have been waiting to see you fall.

I just can’t fathom it. Frankly I’m sick of it. ‘Cause you’re so full of shit you’re eyes are turning brown.
So take this at a loss. Don’t calculate the cost. Can’t you see we’re better off not having you around? Step down. Step down. Step down.

Hello!

The tour is now over and it was a blast! Thank you so much to everyone who came out to show their support and the kind people who booked me for my performances. All together it was a big success and I had a lot of fun. I can’t wait until next time!

The last show was in Kingston on Saturday April 20th at the Mansion. Colin Brady and Will Hunter both opened up the night with some amazing music. You can check their music out below.

Will Hunter: https://www.facebook.com/willhuntermusic

I took to the stage as a solo performer and then ended up having 3 bandmates join me by the end. Cody Yeo joined me to perform as the Smidgens (unfortunately, I don’t think we managed to get any footage of the Smidgens set). Then Lindsay Leggett and Troy Beaton joined us and we played a few songs as Alex Leggett & The Flood. I think that the band did an amazing job and it really felt special jamming with everyone again. A gentlemen named Don from Will Hunter’s band joined us for a few songs and played a mean shaker as well. Fun times! I will be posting a video of the night soon.

On Sunday April 28th my girlfriend Caitlyn and I will be travelling to Turks & Caicos for 5 weeks. I will be performing in a Club Med resort 6 nights a week. I’m super excited to be going on this trip and to be sharing this experience with my lovely girlfriend. This will be an exciting opportunity to test my performing capabilities as well as do some creative writing in a different environment. I will continue to post updates, pics, and videos online of our adventure.

Thanks again to everyone who made the spring tour such a success and thanks for reading!
